IJRCAAE Issue #2 – (Re-)Searching Peace Education: Aesthetic, Artistic, and (Trans-)Cultural Perspectives

Excerpt from the Editorial

“The articles in this volume demonstrate the broad spectrum of intersections between arts and peace education. They discuss approaches and methodologies but, equally important, address the often-brutal realities in which these educational endeavours are situated. […] These reflections illustrate the efforts of numerous global initiatives, carried out by artists, educators, communities and activists, to rebuild the social fabrics that have been torn asunder by violence and war. They demonstrate a deep, vital, and sensitive desire to contribute in building alternative possibilities as “ways of worldmaking” (Goodman, 1978), imaginaries, and other pathways for children, youth, and communities, to recover dignity, humanity and the right for a better future. The contributions in this volume are a vital step – but they also highlight how much more research this field urgently needs.” (Joerissen et al. 2026, p. 4ff.)
