Dance Studies, University of Auckland is the New Zealand member of the UNESCO UNITWIN Arts Education for Research for Cultural Diversity and Sustainable Development, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Dance Studies is a research led academic Department that aims to improve New Zealander’s quality of living and transform diverse societies through dance.
Dance Studies is a member of global organisations such as World Dance Alliance (WDA) and World Alliance for Arts Education (WAAE). Our research focus on dance and education; dance and community development; and, dance and creative practice, places Dance Studies, University of Auckland at the forefront of research.
Dance Studies has been chosen to partner with this UNITWIN network and other leading research institutions, such as the Finnish Academy funded ARTSEQUAL programme at University of Helsinki, in order to achieve UNESCO’s goals for education for sustainable development.
